I'm trying to sign into a GMail account on Thunderbird, but the next button fails.

I'm trying to sign into my GMail account on Thunderbird. I put in my username and password, and it checks server settings properly and tells me to hit Continue. When it checks the password and Google's sign-in page appears, the 'next' on Google's page does not take me to the next page to sign in. However, when it had me log in for the calendar, it allowed my Google account through.

I'm using Thunderbird 45.8.0 on Debian 8.0 "Jessie". The uploaded image is where the account gets stuck.

Okay. How do I change the repository on Debian so that Firefox and Thunderbird update using Mozilla's servers instead of Debian's?

I uninstalled firefox-esr, iceweasel, thunderbird, and lightning on apt-get so they won't update using Debian's servers anymore.

I then downloaded the updated firefox and thunderbird tarballs and moved them to /usr/bin/firefox/ and /usr/bin/thunderbird/ respectively. Since they have their own updater, there's no need for me to find a repository and register it to apt.

The updated version of thunderbird allowed me to log into the GMail account.
