In the main menu (across the top), View|Layout and then tick the checkbox Folder Pane.

In the horrible application menu, it is under Options|Layout. Just hover, don't click until you see the Folder Pane checkbox.

When you have the Folder Pane visible at the left, you can select any account or any folder.
