When opening Thunderbird, it gets to my opening screen, then freezes. I click on anything,.. it says "<date> Mozilla Thunderbird (Not Responding). I can see all my accounts and email folders but I cannot open them

I suspect it occurred when I was 'playing' and opened my Win10 and I clicked to many apps too quickly... that's when it started. Once this freezes I can't click on anything, I just get the blue circle until it times out and . I tried going to /control panel / All Control Panel Items / Programs and features / and UNINSTALLED Mozilla Thunderbird.... then reinstalled Thunderbird 52.2.1

Totally locked up when ever I open it. I have to force closing it by right clicking on top -or- taskmaster and select Thunderbird then "End Task" Any help is appreciated - I have a small one man business and totally am entrenched in this database.

SOLVED FOUND THE PROBLEM... it was a corrupt file in my inbasket... A Spam company had over 1000+ names in the "TO" and Thunderbird could not open it, It hug there. I had to force close Thunderbird, and when I opened it again, Thunderbird went to that same folder and tried to open that email and locked up continuously... I was doomed.

After 3 days of fooling around and making new profiles, here is what I did.

... so I entered %APPDATA% into the Search Bar, then clicked on Roaming then clicked on Thunderbird then clicked on Profiles, At this point, if you have several profiles, you need to figure out which one was locking up, I knew mine was xxxyyyzzz.Default User (clicked on that) clicked on Mail (folder) then clicked on Local Folders then scrolled to Inbox.mozmsgs and deleted Inbox.mosmsgs

Of course that deleted all the messages in the inbox (Including the single corrupt email) and now all is back and good

Lots of luck
