Have had ongoing constant "firefox not responding" dragging, stalling, keyboarding in sites problems, etc. I have run and tested everything possible. I have uninstalled and reinstalled FF. I have run FF in safemode. I have HAD IT! Something must be done. It is not my computer(have had an expert check it) and not my internet provider. IT is FIREFOX and it's performance on the internet and sites. NOT providing human service really sucks. I need these problems to go away......FIREFOX needs to contact me and get it fixed

How much RAM do you have installed and how many browser tabs do you keep open when this happens?

Have you checked for malware?

Have you tried disabling hardware acceleration or performing a clean reinstall?

I know, this situation can be frustrating, but providing more details can help solve your problem.

I'm on your side, here.

I replied via email but then realized it was a "no-reply" so you probably did not get it. I am not sure if this is what you needed to know on my Ram 4096MBRAM is what my system says I usually may have 1 to 3 tabs open at a time The problems mainly are when I am in FACEBOOK but do occur on other sites and when I am in my email I have run ALL Malware programs and no malware is present I have uninstalled and reinstalled FF several times I have run FF in Safe Mode. Still the issues. I do not understand the "disabling hardware" question. These are my best responses. I have checked with my internet provider and the problem is not on their end.

I was talking about this type of issue below.

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

You will need to restart Firefox for this to take effect so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.,) and then perform these steps:

In Firefox 54 and below:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and select Options (Windows) or Preferences (Mac, Linux).
  2. Select the Advanced panel and the General tab.
  3. Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.
  4. Close Firefox completely and then restart Firefox to see if the problem persists.

In Firefox 55 and above:

  1. Click the menu button New Fx Menu and select Options (Windows) or Preferences (Mac, Linux).
  2. Select the General panel.
  3. Under Performance, uncheck Use recommended performance settings. Additional settings will be displayed.
    Fx55Performance-disableHWA
  4. Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.
  5. Close Firefox completely and then restart Firefox to see if the problem persists.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

If the problem is resolved, you should check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in these Knowledge base articles:

Thank you.

Remove History For One Site

Open the History Manager <Control><Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right-click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any passwords / settings.

So far the resolve that MattCamp suggested above seems to be working. Will give it some time.
