I have Compuserve email and now verizon goes thru compuserve. There was a notice about changes and using a third party . "CompuServe is committed to protecting the privacy and security of our customers. To help ensure that you have a secure connection when you access your email through 3rd party applications, please update your connection settings following the instructions in our help article" I am totally lost and do not know if this applies to Firefox. Does Firefox support IMAP? How would I change settings for this, please.

Hi

Not really, no.

If you read, write and send your email from the Compuserve web page through Firefox, you should not be impacted by this change.

If you use an email client (such as Thunderbird) to read, write and send email on your computer (instead of the Compuserve web page) you may be impacted by this change.

I hope this helps, but if not, please come back and we will do our best to help you further.

Hi Seburo, Thank you for the reply. I did read the info, but it said if your email client wasn't listed to contact them. If I understand, because I use Firefox to get to compuserve, I am all set. Is this correct. I apologize. I just wish to comprehend.. Thanks so much for your help

Hi

No worries, nothing wrong with checking.

If you are using Firefox to open the Compuserve web page to get to your emails, you should be all set.

It does not sound like you are using an email client - many people do not, but Compuserve are letting people know just in case they do and may need to make a small change to their settings.

I have never heard that term before..email client. I have compuserve as a favorite, and actually on the tool bar. So, I should be OK. (I think)

Sorry,... too many new terms.I truly appreciate your help

Hi

No worries, my fault for not explaining it.

An email client is a separate piece of software on your computer that allows you to read and write emails. From what you are saying, you do not use an email client as you are using Firefox to see your emails directly on the Compuserve web page.

You should be fine.
