Every time I send an email I get a popup little window telling me its being sent and a copy has been copied to my Sent folder. After seeing this about 500 times I probably don't need to be notified of this anymore. Is there any way of disabling this wonderful and informative little feature?

Chosen solution

There are a couple of preferences you can modify in order to 'send in background':

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Thunderbird_3.0_-_New_Features_and_Changes#Send_in_Background

Tools/Options/Advanced/General/Config. editor, right-click a preference, Modify, or double-click to toggle between true and false.

Ah thank you. I'm so glad I you pointed out that Config Editor. Power control there and so many options available. We all love options!

Using it worked perfectly.
