I'm using a mac, I've attempted to clear history, check firewall, uninstall then reinstall firefox yet still the browser does not work at all anymore while others work with absolutely no issue. I keep getting a connection time out message with working network, no proxy or change in firewall settings. This just started happening. I've used firefox for years though this has happened before a complete re install worked but this time it failed to. I've tried pretty much every suggestion out there, for now I've abandoned it hoping that someday I can find an answer without a complete wipe.

Thanks

Some problems occur when your Internet security program was set to trust the previous version of Firefox, but no longer recognizes your updated version as trusted. Now how to fix the problem: To allow Firefox to connect to the Internet again;

  • Make sure your Internet security software is up-to-date (i.e. you are running the latest version).
  • Remove Firefox from your program's list of trusted or recognized programs. For detailed instructions, see

Configure firewalls so that Firefox can access the Internet. {web link}

Try to disable IPv6 (check for other possible causes as well).
