I found this in my Add-ons Manager. Does anyone know what this is?

I looked thru the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} but could not find anything.

Nothing on a web search either.

Hmmm, I was looking for YTU Support. Maybe they are related. I'll have to ask them.

Here they mention YTU Support :

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-unblocker-plus/reviews/814977/

This add-on came before the one that's listed in your system details.

(same developer)

Have you removed this add-on yet  ?

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-unblocker-plus/

And maybe clicked the 'Report this add-on for abuse' button  ?

I just read the first (very long) review : not pretty  !

Hi Fred  !

Found these two German add-ons  :

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-unblocker-plus/reviews/814977/

and :

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-unblocker-plus/

No idea how they/it got in your Add-ons Manager ...... (if this is what you're seeing)

But I've never seen so many add-ons listed in someone's system details
either - maybe one of those caused it  ?

Couldn't let it go and found this :

http://www.freefixer.com/library/file/%40ytu-support.xpi-254288/

'Hope that has nothing to do with it .......

In all those extensions that are listed in your system details I completely overlooked this one :

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-unblocker-plus/

(the second one I mentioned in my first post)

Maybe use the 'Report this add-on for abuse' button  ?

Thanks, Happy. I had found the FreeFixer page, but it had no useful information.

The others you listed I added from Mozilla.

When you're on : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

and type in : 'YouTube Unblocker Plus'

You'll see it right there (you said you couldn't find it)

But if you didn't install it yourself : something must have .....

I couldn't find the   'Support' part either - that threw me off.

But that extensions that's listed in your system details only says :

'YouTube Unblocker Plus 2.0.1'

That's where I should have looked in the first place : your system details .

Just thought of something :

In Preferences => Privacy & Security => under 'Permissions'

Did you check : 'Warn you when websites try to instal add-ons'  ?

(Just a stab in the dark, as the question still is : "How did it get there  ? " )

Yes. The warning is on. Your pardon. ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz

I hope you won't regret it ......

Thank you for your help, Happy.

My pleasure, Fred.

And another one with an add-on that 'installed itself' :

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1183710

That same add-on shows in your system details ......

Did you install that one yourself  ?

You can check the extensions.json file in the profile folder for more detail about installed extensions. If you open the file in a Firefox tab and have the builtin JSON Viewer enabled then it is probably eaiser to inspect the file.

Couldn't let it go as I keep thinking : "Fred mentions YTU Support, but no such addon is listed in his system details .... "

Do you see this 'YTU Support' in one of these add-ons maybe  ?
