How do you change the size of the boxes on the new tab page?

In the latest version of Firefox, is there a way to make the top pages boxes on the new tab page larger? In this version, there is also more of them. I had the perfect number of pinned sites to fill them in the last version. Is there a way to set the exact number of pages shown. I need more than one row, but less than two and I don't want to just pin stuff to the extra boxes nor do I want to have every page I visit displayed every time I open a new tab.

Chosen solution

Go to about:config, search for "browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.topSitesCount", change the value of this to the number of pinned sites you desire.

There doesn't appear to be any way to change the size, so I'm afraid we're stuck with the tiny icons for now
