Volume resets to 100% on Linux
This is a long standing problem with Firefox on Linux. Everytime I play any video or audio in Firefox, the volume is set to 100%. After manually adjusting the volume in pulseaudio control (pavucontrol), Firefox still does not remember the volume setting. Even scrubbing to a different location in the video resets the volume. I have been putting up with this problem for years by setting media.volume_scale to 0.1. It does not solve the problem of volume resetting, but at least I have managed not to go deaf.
I was hoping Firefox 57 would fix this issue. Today I got the update on my distro to 57 and the problem still persists. Firefox is the only program on my system that suffers from this problem. Can somone from Mozilla let me know if this issue will ever be addressed?

Try adjusting in the normal volume mixer, if you have pavucontrol installed, it might be causing issues, try to uninstall it if the problem persists.

Its a shame pavucontrol wont work with firefox but uninstalling it solved the problem.
