At present I use print-screen then open and crop in Photoshop. Can I do a screen shot of part of my screen in Windows 10? (I have W10 on another computer)

The built-in "Take a Screenshot" facility in Firefox 57.0 is a nice addition and allows you to take a snapshot of part or the whole of a web page loaded in the current tab. You can find the help page for it here:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-screenshots

From your wording though, I think that you are wishing to take screenshots of all or part of the whole screen (rather than just a webpage). There are many screenshot programs, some of which are commercial, with lots of features that you do not necessarily want to use. The one that I would personally recommend is an open source, freeware program, called Lightscreen:

http://lightscreen.com.ar/

I am using it on Windows 10 Pro and it seems to be good. Note: One thing I like about it is that it will run as a portable version (which is how I am using it). Although I have not done so, you should be able to run it off of a USB stick with no problem.
