My main account has a pop3 connection to an Outlook Web App. I have been using this connection with same settings for 2.5 years.

I save my sent email automatically in the "sent" folder. However, last week I noticed that all sent emails from 11/2016 onwards were gone. Only the older ones were still there.

I am not sure it is related but the messages disappeared soon after I a message saying that Thunderbird was not being able to save sent emails to the usual folder started appearing whenever I pressed the send button.

I have tried safe mode, repairing, deleting .msf file and rebuilding and nothing seems to works and bring the emails back.

Can anyone help? Thanks.

Cheers.

I suggest you rebuild the Sent folder according to the 'Real fix' instructions here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Compacting_folders#Real_fix

Essentially, you copy the current mail to another folder, delete the existing Sent mbox and msf files and have TB automatically create a new one. This won't recover the missing mail, but it may allow future sent messages to be stored.

As to why the Sent folder became unwriteable, do you have a security program scanning outgoing mail?
