Can I pass a zoom setting for a web page through a desktop shortcut?
My 74-year-old father runs Windows 10, and with its recent update Microsoft has finally succeeded in preventing the original version of Minesweeper (Winmine.exe) from running, even in compatibility mode.
We would happily pay for the new Xbox Live version but the problem is that it does not look anything like the game he is used to playing and he is extremely resistant to learning new things on his computer. The best solution seems to be a free on-line version of Minesweeper with the old interface. The only trouble is that by default it is too small for him to see in the browser window.
Is there a way to pass a zoom setting to Firefox (for that one web page only) through a desktop shortcut?

Firefox should remember the page zoom via the Site Preferences once you set it.
In case you use "Clear history when Firefox closes".
- do not clear the Site Preferences
- Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" -> Settings

- clearing "Site Preferences" clears exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, and software installation and exception for password and other website specific data
- clearing "Cookies" will remove all selected cookies including cookies with an "Allow" exception you may want to keep

Why not do this so it is handy for him at all times. 3 Bar Menu ---> Optimize then drag the -/+ into the Bar near the Downloads.
Go to the page and increase and it should lock that page at all times to display at the % you have increased it to.
Since it will now be handy he may use it for other pages.
