In the latest patch of Firefox... some pages have completely disabled scrolling (up/down) the page.

This does not work any more... not with a mouse wheel or a keyboard. You just can not go down the content.

Examples: http://creativeaddiction.in/templates/fungus/style_one_light/about_us.html http://www.pecaric.si/sallhofer2017/program.html

This was working fine in a previous patch and still working with other browsers.

Can I kindly ask for your help about this? Please.

The creativeaddiction.in and www.pecaric.si pages use JavaScript to create their own scroll bar and hide the Firefox scroll bar (<body style="overflow: hidden;">).

If that scroll bar isn't working then you may be blocking the script(s) that manage the scrolling.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window

Thank you very much for your reply.

Starting Firefox in safe mode did not solve this. I also tried it in many different computers. Only the ones with latest patch have this issue.

I must admit that I'm not an experienced in this. I used an template and just changed it. Unfortunately the company who sold me the template... is not supporting me.

Can I kindly ask you... is there an easy way just to turn on the Firefox scroll bar? (and where)

I understand that I'm asking a lot... but Im desperate :( . Thank you very much.

I am not seeing a problem with either of those webpages with Firefox 57.0.4 on Windows 7 and an unmodified Firefox Profile, that has no changes to any preferences. IOW, an "out of the box" installation.

Scroll wheel works fine for me, as does the Up & Down arrows on the keyboard, along with the Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down keys, and I am able to use the cursor to "grab" the narrow scrollbar to move the page up & down at will. Not a laptop so I don't have a scrollpad to test it with.

I don't have any Windows 7 to try this.... but I did try this on several computers with Win10 (fresh installed Firefox). I simply can not scroll.

On this computers (if I revert to older patch of Firefox)... all is o.k. so it has to be related to some changes in the patch.

Maybe I can avoid this by some changes to my webpage. Can I ask someone how to turn back on Firefox scroll bar?

I appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks.
