When I try to view 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' on its website, http://www.cbs.com/shows/the-late-show-with-stephen-colbert , I can't with Firefox (I get a 'video unavailable' message or a simple refusal) but can with IE.

I don't have the bandwidth to watch video at home so I watch at the library (either the city's or the university's). I try to use their Firefox and mine (currently 58.0 but this has been happening for years). I clear my history and cookies.

Monday-Thursday LSSC publishes its show on YouTube - but not on Friday.

Of course this isn't Firefox's fault. Do others have the same experience? Does it make sense to anyone?

The library computers run Windows 7 Premium and some slightly out-of-date Firefox.

When I go to that page and play an episode, I get sound but just a white rectangle where the video goes. (Of course, the ad played perfectly.) It could be something in my settings or add-ons; I don't know.

Does your or the library's Firefox have any content blockers active? Those might include:

(1) Built-in Tracking Protection feature (especially in private windows).

Do you see a shield icon toward the left end of the toolbar when this problem hits? More info on how to use the shield to manage blocking: What happened to Tracking Protection?.

(2) Content blocking extensions such as Adblock Plus, Blur, Disconnect, Ghostery, NoScript, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin or uMatrix.

These typically provide toolbar buttons to manage blocked content in a page.

You can check the Web Console (Tools -> Web Developer) for messages about blocked content and about the presence of mixed or unsafe content.

You can check the Network Monitor to see if content is blocked or otherwise fails to load.

If necessary use "Ctrl+F5" or "Ctrl+Shift+R" (Mac: Command+Shift+R) to reload the page and bypass the cache to generate a fresh log.
