Can someone please tell me where Firefox and all the other executable programmes, are stored on my Linux system?
Your educated guesses about your current browser and operating system seem to be correct. Derekeducated guesses about your current browser and operating system

Note that the Firefox 29.0 version from the Ubuntu repositories you run according to the System Details list is very outdated (current is 58.0.1).
- User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux i686; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/29.0
If you start Firefox then you should see the path to the Firefox program in the System Monitor. You can also check your software installation for details about the Firefox application.
Verify that you meet the System Requirements (GTK+ and GLib) for the current Firefox release.

For my installation of Ubuntu 16.04, firefox, and many others are stored in various directories of /usr/lib. Firefox looks like it comes from /usr/bin however - that is a symbolic link pointing to ../lib/firefox/firefox.sh.
