I am looking for a tool that can be used to create a desktop shortcut for a website (Tab), preferably by right-clicking on the tab and selecting an entry in the context menu. Rather not take my hand off the mouse.

I know about dragging to the desktop, but this is not efficient on a small screen la[top where I am browsing full screen https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/create-desktop-shortcut-website

There used to be an add-on, but it's not compatible with the current Firefox.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.

Once the webpage is loaded, hold down the left button on the address box icon and move it to your desktop. Or wherever else you want it.

Separate Security Issue: Update your Flash Player Note: Windows users should download the ActiveX for Internet Explorer. and the plugin for Plugin-based browsers (like Firefox).

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

Flash Player Version: Version 28.0.0.137

Since you have Firefox 52 ESR and not 57.0 or later there is a Extension called deskCut. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/deskcut/

Keep in mind that the last Firefox 52 ESR security/stability update will be 52.9.0esr out on July 3rd. Firefox 53.0 and later has dropped support of the EOL WinXP and Vista.

The OP has Firefox 52 ESR due to using Windows Vista so it is compatible ;)

Long story short I was not posting from the computer I was trying to address. I want a Quantum based solution to address my v58\win7 laptop and eventually upgrade my vista desktop. On the desktop I have multiple monitors so I can drag from the address bar, the laptop not.

Thanks Fred, I did the search thing and was unable to find what I want which does not mean it's not there. Just not obvious. As for the shortcut, it's basically the same issue as dragging.
