Am unable to move my eMails from the inbox to their respective folders. This feature used to work on the earlier versions of ThunderBird with NO problems at all. What changes were made to eliminate this feature.? I need an answer - NOT more suggestions from others with a similar problem. Click and Drag does NOT work, nor does right clicking and selecting "Move". Am using Windows 10 on an HP Slimline 64 bit system. Everything else seems to be working OK, including Mozilla's "FireFox" program.

The feature has not been "eliminated". It is alive and well here in TB 52.6.0 on Windows 10 Pro, and also on my Linux boxes.

Do you use any add-ons? Have you tried in Thunderbird's Safe Mode?

There is no switch to flick, nor the "simple answer" you seek. Your machine is doing it, mine isn't, and I haven't recently seen others users reporting this. So if you want help, expect to be asked to try things.
