Hello guys,

I have pretty big problem with thunderbird. Was doing a reinstall for a guy who frankly, have habit to keep important documents and mails in trash folder. I do not ask why etc. I was moving all his data from Local and Roaming folders in AppData. For me it works always perfect, It moves all my settings and mails perfectly, never had a problem.

The person for who I was repairing PC said that he lost tons of mails from trash which are important to him. After some investigation, I found them in roaming profile folder, yet it was weird behavior. There were 2 trash folders: - Trash - Trash-1

All lost mails were in trash-1, original trash had only once which were available on his IMAP account. As I found others, tried to open few of them, without a single reaction from thunderbird. I can open them in notepad, there is everything fine with mail files, yet I cannot put them back where they belong, thunderbird constantly deny from seeing them.

What I have tried : - repairing folder - removing Trash.msf file and let thunderbird rebuild mails - moving mails in brute force into trash - thunderbird just ignore them and again, create another trash-1/2/3... folders

Checked his IMAP acc on web, there is no mails too, probably got deleted for whatever reason, by whoever, I cannot get this info since he claim he didn't remove them.

I am out of ideas how to fix this issue, maybe you can help me. It is really important for me right now, any ideas are welcome.
