I believe our account was compromised. I have removed all passwords and can not reset them now. I have tried many times.

I have been receiving many "spam" emails and believed our account to be compromised. I have gone in and removed all passwords. I then sent an email to myself and entered a new password. I can not send nor receive emails now. I go back to saved passwords and the new password is there but still will not work. I have closed and opened thunderbird many times with no success.

The best clue is what comes after the '@' in your email address. This is its "domain" and usually can help trace who provides and operates the account and its servers.

Mozilla Thunderbird is just a "client". It's the writing desk and filing system, but not the operator of your email account.

Did you change the password with your email provider? If not, start there.

I thought Mozilla Thunderbird was the email provider...is it not? How do I find who the email provider is? Sorry for my lack of knowledge, this is a company email has was set up 6 years before I was working here.

Thunderbird is email client software not a provider. If your address ends in @gmail.com then it is gmail. If that does not help then I guess you figure out who you are paying to host your email.
