I added an email account today and a screen came up that I should have clicked "Cancel" on. It was for a special account that had no one assigned to. Well, I thought it was for the new account so gave it a name and folder. My primary account no longer shows and all the mail to that account now goes to the special account. I don't see the primary account in the listing of accounts and folders but it does appear in the left pane on account settings. I cannot delete the special account and cannot change the folder. How can I just get back to where it was? I have backups on Carbonite.

Chosen solution

First locate local folders that you have obliviously renamed to your email address or something like. It is the special account.

Change it's name back to "Local Folders"

in account setting on the left select server settings for your account. Click the advanced button. Change the setting to use the inbox for This account.

You might have to restart Thunderbird for the change to show in the main window.

I like your solution better than what I did before getting notified of your solution. I downloaded prefs.js from three days ago and replaced the latest one with the old one. That worked, too. Your solution is much easier. Thanks.
