Cannot locate Thunderbird Profle.
I run Thunderbird 3.1.20 (on a macbook pro with osx 10.9.5.) Unfortunately it stopped updating automatically some time ago. I would like to back up the profile before installing a new version. This is for added security, as I assume a new version would pick up my existing profile. However I can't locate the profile folder and it is not where your article says it would be, which is in my personal username library. I have no username library. The libraries I have are 1) the drivename library, which contains an Application Support folder, which contains a Firefox folder that contains my Firefox profile. There is also a Mozilla folder, but this contain only Extensions. 2) The System library, which contains no Mozilla or Thunderbird folder. 3) The Shared Users library, which contains an empty Application support folder. Please advise...

Note, OS X 11.9 is supported in Thunderbird version 52, but iirc is not supported in version 60

go to the troubleshooting information on the help menu and click the show profile button. Guaranteed to locate the profile in use on all operating systems and versions. Trouble is I can not recall if that was integrated in V3 or V5
I don't have troubleshooting in my help menu. The solution was to find out how to unconceal the User Library Menu in osx.
