I want to install Mozilla Firefox #6 release to replace google chrome for privacy. I am currently using McAfee Total Protection Software. Question ? is Mcafee Total Protection Software compatible with Mozilla Firefox #6 release ? I've read about McAfee and Mozilla recently and it is said McAffe software and Mozilla is an ongoing problem. If McAfee is a problem what software doesn't cause a problem. Thanks John

Hello tanskysr,

If you decide to start using Firefox (and you won't regret it if you do), you can download the latest release version (in your preferred language) from here :

https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

And what Tyler Downer said about anti-virus : so true  !

Hi, not with the program itself just with a scanner, 1 out of a couple which can be disabled. Also they fix issues so could be fixed.

There is also : Avast/AVG, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate or scanners blocking.

More information inside than just the name :

Oh, and all the AV/Firewall makers have a Forum where can go to find the work around to fix the issues.

What do you mean Firefox #6 release? the current version of Firefox 61.0.2.

Your anti-virus will run in the background regardless of whatever browser you have. However, McAfee is generally regarded to be a poor anti-virus. I suggest just using Windows Defender, which is already on your computer.

Either way, Firefox will run just fine.

Tyler Downer; I am not familiar with Mozilla Firefox versions. The number #6 was taken from a search. Although with another search release 40 , release 5.0 and release #6 are shown. Thanks for your input. -John-

Firefox 5.0 (out June, 2011) , 6.0 (out August 2011) and 40.0 (August, 2015) are old Releases

You can see the list at https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/releases/ as versions on top is newest with oldest at bottom.
