First, you should update Firefox. 57 is no longer supported and not safe to run. Please update to Firefox 62.

Yes, I believe that refreshing will reset your certs as well.

Current Firefox release store certificate data in cert9.db (SQLite). Older Firefox versions used cert8.db (DBM) to store certificate data. If you want to recover certificates then you need to copy cert8.db from the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop to the current profile folder and make sure to remove the existing cert9.db file. When cert9.db is not found then Firefox can fallback to cert8.db and use that file to create cert9.db.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
