problem setting up email configuration

Just installed Thunderbird on friend's computer. Setting up new email account...."unable to verify.....wrong password or user name". I've done this many times on my own computer but have checked user name and password multiple times but still cannot verify/configure the email account. Can't figure out why not. When I go to Yahoo and use the same info am able to login to account no problem. Never had this problem setting up account in Thunderbird before. Help!

If they set two-step verification on the account, an app password should be entered in TB.
