One account shown as Special account so is blocking me getting emails on that account, Need to change it's name?
When I had to fit a new modem one of my email accounts instead of acting normaly set up as a special account, this is preventing me getting mail destined for that account. I gather I shouldn't delete it as it's a "Local Folder" Can I rename it? if so How?
Chosen solution
'Local Folders' is a special mail account created by default and is standard in all installations of Thunderbird. That account also contains the 'Outbox' folder used by all mail accounts for mail that you choose to 'Sent Later'. It can be used to store emails in folders outside of any pop or imap mail account. Pop mail accounts can use it as a Global Inbox. Very useful place to store imap account emails that you need to get off a server either due to a server quota issue or a change of server eg:webhost.

Is it possible you have set up a POP mail account as a deferred mail account - commonly known as Global inbox ?
The pop mail account itself does not appear in the Folder Pane although it does appear in the 'Account Settings' window. All emails are downloaded and redirected to use the 'Local Folders' mail account Inbox. So, you only see the 'Local Folders' Inbox in the Folder Pane. Info:
If this is the case and this is what you wanted, but you are not getting emails or you want to only use Pop mail account folders:
check this setting.
- Right click on 'Local Folders' mail account in the Folder Pane and select 'Settings'
The Account Settings' window opens. You will see your 'pop mail account' as well as 'Local Folders' and at the bottom 'Outgoing Server SMTP'
Locate the pop mail account name.
- Select 'Server Settings' for the pop mail account.
- click on 'Advanced' button
A small window opens.
If the pop mail account has been set up to use Global Inbox: This will be selected.
- 'Inbox for different account: ' and 'Local Folders'
To keep this setup, but download emails:
- Select: 'Include this server when getting new mail'
see first image below as guide
To stop using Global Inbox and use the POP mail acount with it's own folders:
- Select: 'Inbox for this account'
See second image below as guide.
- click on 'OK
Now check all other settings to make sure the correct folders etc are being used. Pop mail accounts set up as Global Inbox accounts use 'Local Folders' Pop mail accounts that use their own folders must say they are using the appropriate folder on appropriate pop mail account. Check: 'Copies & Folders', 'Junk Settings'
Then restart Thunderbird.

When I go to settings I just get the header for the email Plants @abacus-nurseries etc below that I get junk settings and disc space No other options
No way I can find to solve the problem. A lot of what is suggested is using items that don't exist om my screen
