I've used Thunderbird for email and there are several folders under "local folders" that begin with "djva7x3s.default..." I think they are backup files and I think taking up a lot of space and/or memory. Any idea what they are and whether I can get rid of them?

the random letters in the name look like profile names. how many times did you try and move your profile to a new device unsuccessfully before it "worked"

Interesting question, Matt. Thanks for responding. I don't recall moving my profile unsuccessfully. There are 11 folders that all begin with "djva7x3s.default" then a hyphen, 9 numerical digits, another hyphen, 4 numerical digits. Each folder has 52 subfolders "abook.mab" through "webappsstore.sqlite-wal".

well you have 11 copies of your Thunderbird profile in your current profile. Those last 10 digits have me lost though. some examples might help in trying to identify the source, but it should be safe to delete them.

Thanks. Matt. I freed up 50+ gigs on my hard drive. Now there are no folders showing up, so not sure what effect that will have, but I'll cross that bridge...
