Can download and upload using burtonhnh@sbcglobal.net ; account3:

     INCOMING: account3, , (pop3) inbound.att.net:995, SSL, passwordCleartext
OUTGOING: , outbound.att.net:465, SSL, passwordCleartext, true
Can NOT on burtontrail@sbcglobal.net  ;

account1:

     INCOMING: account1, , (pop3) inbound.att.net:995, SSL, passwordCleartext
OUTGOING: , outbound.att.net:465, SSL, passwordCleartext, true

I can go to Yahoo.com and send & receive emails on both. Problem started 2 days ago. Got one download yesterday and none today after numerous tries. This error message: "Sending of password for user burtontrail@sbcglobal.net did not succeed. Mail server inbound.att.net responded: Server error - Please try again later."

I have tried removing the account, rebuilding global database, and starting in "Safe Mode". I am not aware of any updates. Had been working in excess of 3 years.

Name: Thunderbird
   Version: 60.3.1
   Build ID: 20181113231517
   Update Channel: release
   User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/60.3.1
   OS: Windows_NT 6.1

Thanks in advance for your help.

The ATT mail system is a disaster. I strongly suggest you vote with your feet and simply stop using it. You might also ask ATT for a refund on the part of your subscription that you can not use because of their poor contract writing skills. The Yahoo thing is just a mess.

But the best I can work out with their mess of lies, poor information and failure to understand the technology is that you probably need to use a secure mail key

But as I said in the beginning, using a real mail provider is the best long term solution. I suggest GMX, as it has nothing to do with a terrible Yahoo system and is not a US based provide

The following settings have my AT&T , Yahoo email working okay. You do not need the "KEY". Hope this may be of help to someone else.

SERVER SETTINGS: Server Type: POP Mail Server Server Name: inbound.att.net Port: 995 User Name: youremail@address (DanJamesJ@att.net) Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication: Normal Password

OUTGOING SERVER: Description: DanJames Server name: outbound.att.net Port: 465 User Name: DanJames@att.net Authentication method: Normal password Connection Security: SSL/TLS

Alternately this also works on my system. DanJames@smpt.mail.yahoo.com
