"All" folder suddenly appeared
After I switched my remaining account to IMAP. A folder labeled "all" appeared. Does this duplicate messages in other folders? If I delete one or more message from "all" will it be deleted from another folder? What is it's intended function?
Can I eliminate this folder?
Chosen solution
I presume this is a gmail account, which includes an All Mail folder. If you delete a message from All Mail, it is removed from other folders where it's stored. Most users unsubscribe from All Mail; directions are given in the All Mail section here. See also the last paragraph of the Labels section about deleting gmail messages.

Thanks. I've decided to leave it since it isn't taking up more disk space.
