on some websites drop lists and buttons have stopped working. the buttons act like they are being pressed but nothing happens. also the tool bar tip always shows up even though it's off. not sure if that's related. i have tried running in safe mode, turning off all antivirus, and updating flash as well as uninstalling flash. also have turned hardware acceleration off.

any ideas on how to fix the problem?

thanks

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

One issue that seems more common lately is Firefox's Tracking Protection feature. When it is blocking content in a page, a shield icon will appear at the left end of the address bar next to the padlock icon. This article has more info on managing this feature: Tracking Protection {web link}

Hi I already tried both of those. I actually use ublock origin instead of the onboard content blockers. I uninstalled ublock to test and still had the problem.

its not a problem on either edge, opera, or chrome. I did try comodo ice dragon which is firefox based and the problem still exsisted.

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?
