Messages received late
Hello! I've got a very strange issue with Thunderbird. Sometimes I receiving messages way too late, like after a couple of hours after a person send me them. And I don't know what's wrong. It occurs periodically, maybe several times a week. But it's super annoying. I don't even know what information to provide for you to help... My e-mail domain is https://sewingland.org/ Ready to answer your additional questions.

Hi First check how often Thunderbird is looking for new messages. Options -> Account settings -> account_name -> server settings. Is "check for new messages on startup" checked? and "check for new messages every X minutes" checked and set to 5 minutes or less? If those settings are OK, it is possibly not Thunderbird's fault. There is no guarantee of delivery in minutes for internet communication, and the path from sender to recipient can be complicated. Have you connected with tech support at sewingland? Please check - if you are able to see a message in your webmail account online (or tech support at sewingland can confirm arrival time of an example message), and that same message does not arrive in your Thunderbird inbox until some time later, then Thunderbird settings, or your local internet connection, or your email provider service may be the cause. Otherwise - if the message is taking a while to get to your online account (your email provider's server), then the problem lies between the sender, their internet, and all the connections between them and your email provider. There may not be much you can do about that. This can happen with people who are sending from a device that has no permanent internet connection. I once had a job application arrive a week late, because the person wrote it at home with no internet connection, and "sent" it - and the email only actually went anywhere next time they were in town and picked up a WiFi connection. I hope this helps, Agnes
