My current laptop is runing windows 7 has Firefox 66.0.3 plus Linux Mint 19 installed on a separate USB Sd drive with with current Firefox. My new laptop is an HP Chromebook. Firefox is my browser of choice since it was available. I have been unsuccessful migrating my large colllection of bookmarks from my current laptop to my HP Chromebook using Linux Firefox ESR version 60. I was successful migration my old bookmarks to the android version on the Chromebook. So far I have tried using the sync method with both laptops to populate my new Chromebook with the Linux distro it only copeid the folder names no actual web addresses. The HTM backup file on the win 7and mint versions on the old laptop via email file attachment and usb file were not successful. The last method copying JSON file from old laptop via email attached file and USB were not recognized by the Firefox esr on Chromebook. Please help my old laptop is obsolete as is win7 and I want to stay with Firefox as my web browser! Perhaps the Linux container on the Chromebook is the problem.

You could try manually copying the file from your Firefox profile folder. In this case, you would really only need to transfer the places.sqlite file from your Firefox profile folder, since it's the one that contains bookmarks and history data.

Hope this helps.

I had no problem copying the places.sqlite file and placing it in the home folder on my Chromebook. However, when I went to the firefox bookmark folder on the Chromebook I could not move it or paste in the imported file.
