Why is Thunderbird suddenly listing emails randomly in "IN BOX" rather than by date/time received?

Until 3 days ago, Thunderbird listed all emails (In Box) as they arrived (date and time). Then, suddenly, incoming emails are listed randomly in the list. I have to search the entire list to find the highlighted new emails. Can this be fixed? Thanls

Chosen solution

clicking on any of the list headings sorts by that entry. My guess is you have clicked on something like Subject in error as sorted the list by that heading.

Note clicking on a heading sorts it one way, clicking again reverses the sort.

Matt, thank you. That solved it. I do not recall clicking on the heading but when I did it this morning, everything went back into the proper order. Thanks again.
