I've recently noticed that when I run Firefox on my Linux desktop, Wine begins updating. This slows down the application startup, which is mildly annoying, but more concerning is that I cannot figure out why it is doing so. The only add-ons I have installed are Evernote Web Clipper, Privacy Badger, Foxy Gestures, Speed Dial 2, and Video Speed Controller. Even with all these disabled the Wine explorer.exe process shows up whenever Firefox is running, so I do not think it is an extension issue.

This could be something that Wine supports needs to address as Wine isn't a mozilla software.

You can create a new profile to test if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
