I'm no longer able to delete an individual website displayed on my search bar suggested list
I have used Firefox for DECADES and never experienced this. The top bar wherein I type a website to search usually enables me to delete individual line from within the the automatically appearing dropped down list, which is a mix of suggestions and previously visited sites. I want to delete he previously deleted sites (not all of them but one by one as they appear with each letter I type in the search bar. The latest update has led to something. A bug or whatever is blocking my. I press delete and nothing is deleted.
Chosen solution
I followed directions and using the up-down key to select an item and then the shift-delete I could delete the item from the drop down box. But, when I closed Firefox and the reopened it all the items I had deleted were back. None are bookmarked items. What now?

Sorry, it's Shift+Delete now.
I followed instruction using the shift delete and the sites disappeared from the drop down list but when i closed Firefox and re opened it the sites I had previously deleted were still there. What do I do now?

Hi Marion, the sites were back in the drop-down list, or the sites are still in history or in thumbnails on the new tab page?
Drop down list
History items should be removed if you press Shift+Delete on a selected item. Bookmark items with a star can't be remove permanently, you need to remove the bookmark in such a case or exclude bookmarks from showing as suggestions.
