Email search by date default not relevance - possible?

When I search old emails I have to manually click on Date, as the default is relevance. Is there any way to change the default to date not relevance?

This is the add-on both items discuss. https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/thunderbird/addon/srsbdnr/? It is shown as compatible with V60 of Thunderbird. There is no suggestion of a 68 version which should be release in the coming week.
