My keyboard is US but I often need to insert the UK pound sign. The input tools work very well and all four English options are installed. Unfortunately they are all to replicate US keyboards which don't have the GBP sign.

The Firefox verion is 68.0.2 64 bit for Linux Mint.

Are there additional keyboards available or a better method of inserting special characters?

On Linux you should have the compose key to enter any special character. I use the right Windows key. For the pound this should be L-: £

Thanks a lot, it works perfectly. Now I do Caps lock L - and up jumps £. As an added bonus it gets rid of Caps Lock as well :)

I had never heard of the compose key. Many years ago on a Spanish keyboard and Windows 95 I remember using Right Alt + ASCII code. This is much easier and more flexible.
