Try to uninstall and install again. if your problem still there I think it can't be a problem regarding to firefox. Check your network Updates.

Hi allen6, Try starting Firefox in it's Safe Mode to see if the problem persists.

Safe Mode temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes) that might be causing problems.

With Firefox closed: Press and hold the Shift (in Mac: Option) key Launch Firefox On the dialog select Start In Safe Mode (Do Not select Refresh)

(Your Bookmarks Toolbar will be turned off. Right-click on the Toolbar and select Bookmarks Toolbar to display it again.) ______________________________________________________

To quit Safe Mode: Select Menu Select Help Select Restart With Add-ons Enabled

Or Exit Firefox.

I have the same problem as listed above. ive even went to the point of doing a complete refresh on my pc. redownloaded new firefox and logged back in and every thing worked fine for about a half hour, then back to lagging. tried to go to setting in firefox and all I get is a white screen. will not load any thing. closed the browser and tried to restart it and it says firefox is already running and will not reopen. went to task bar to force close it and it will not close. some body has to have a solution for this.

Hello allen6,

You will probably already have tried everything that's mentioned in these articles, but just in case there is something you haven't tried yet :

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-already-running-not-responding

and :

https://www.askvg.com/fix-firefox-is-already-running-but-is-not-responding-error-message/

Should none of the suggestions work, and as more people are reporting the same problem; you could file a bug report :

NOTHING has solved the problem. I have tried everything that each person recommended up to and including uninstall and reinstall. I thought that was going to work at lest for a few seconds it did:) This problem is to wide spread for Mozilla not to have noticed it, and worse to have ignored it and not notify the users of this problem.. I cannot stand Chrome but it looks like I will have to learn to l live with it(: I thank each of you that responded directly to my post ! I am really hoping the version 71 will have a fix for this BUG

is there a possibility of a windows update that has disable or affected certain programs. I don't recall a recent update, but my ff was working just fine until I did a restart manually. and every since then ff will not work.

May I ask you once again : do you by any chance use Kaspersky  ?

And if you do, may I also repeat my previous post where I say :
