Sending messages is very slow for mass mailing
I use Thunderbird for Mass Mailing using the MailMerge addon. For quite a few months now, I have noticed that Thunderbird will only send one message at a time. MailMerge has multiple sending modes "Send Later" puts the message in the Outbox and the Outbox processes the messages one at a time.
However in the "Send Now" mode messages are sent immediately. I remember that I used to be able to send even 10 messages at a time, multiple parallels connections were created using the Send Now mode. But now even in the Send Now mode only one message is being sent at a time.
I used not to care since I was sending low volume (a few dozens emails at a time so waiting one minute or so didn't hurt). But now, we want to send promotional emails to 4000 people (Cyber Monday), at the current pace the sending will end at 7:00pm.... I s there a setting I can tweak? Any idea would be greatly appreciated!

Hello there. Samuell233.
I found something about that if you have activated a new installation or add-on.
It would change when restarting Thunderbird and an improvement would occur.
I don't know if this would really help?
I will look further For you in Thunderbird. About Mail-merge add on.
How long do you still have time if I may ask is it going to be tight?
https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/mail-merge/ Do you use this program?

Thank you so much for your assistance this is very much appreciated. Yes this is indeed the add-on I am using. I have reached out to the developer who told me that unfortunately he removed the concurrency feature in the last version because of development budget reasons, here is his message:
>Multiple concurrent connections were supported by Mail Merge in the past. Though this feature was more or less unofficial and you had to modify a hidden preference in the Config Editor of Thunderbird.
>During the huge rewrite for version 5, I (silently) dropped support for this feature. The main reason for this decision was, that I hardly ever tested it and it was prone to introduce timing issues, e.g. when two messages were interacting with the message body - more or less - simultaneously, there was a slight chance for undefined behavior.
>(Fun fact: You are only the second user, who reported the feature was missing - in 10 months.)
I am however still interested in tips to have Thunderbird send messages faster, sending 4000 emails took almost 5 hours.... Is there a way to configure Thunderbird to process the Outbox concurrently? Maybe an Addon exists? Or some hidden setting in Thunderbird?
Thank you again for your help,
Samuel

Unfortunately none of this was helpful, I found no setting allowing to increase the sending rate of the outbox, and the software you linked are not relevant to what I am trying to do.
