Question marks and other characters randomly insert all through emails I send with Thunderbird. All accounts. I just migrated my profile from PC to Mac. But also had problem with PC. Makes reading my emails difficult. Thank you.

Chosen solution

On a Mac, double-click mail.strictly_mime to true in Preferences/Advanced/General/Config. editor.

The problem is with any account that sends through a Yahoo-type smtp, even non-Yahoo-types that use the Yahoo smtp. Select an account in the left pane of Tools/Account Settings, then look at Outgoing Server (SMTP) in the right pane.

Are you sending through a Yahoo-type account, i.e. Yahoo/AOL/Verizon/ATT/Rogers etc.?

Thanks. I'm on a Mac and I cannot find these options for solving under Tools or in Preferences. Can you please direct me for Mac version.

I am using ATT/Yahoo, but am also using a number of IMAP accounts through GoDaddy.

Thank you.
