The "find help" field at the top right of https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/thunderbird does not allow data to be typed in and edited. The problem seems to be that it tries to search after each keypress, rather than once the field is complete. This prevents editing - if I try and edit the field why it is searching, data I enter is lost.

Web browser FF 72.0.1 64 bit. OS Windows 10 (on a reasonably high-spec PC that isn't doing anything else)

I can not help you with questions about why things are as the are on Mozilla's support site, other than to confirm to you that the search is "as you type". Given the way it's elastic search works, searching on more than one word is basically no much good anyway.

I do my searching of the site from Google. Using Site:support.mozilla.org on the end to limit results returned to just this web site. This does not return unsolved support topics, but I really don't want to be searching them usually anyway. (Mozilla does not allow search engines to index topics that are not marked solved.)
