Hi! I have attached snapshots of my account settings and the messages I get when the port is set to 25 (which is what the server said it should be) and when it is set to 587 . My server is 012 "Partner" in Israel. I can send emails through their web portal successfully. I called them for help but they said they don't have anyone there familiar with Thunderbird. :( I tried the steps in the article about what to do if you can't send emails, to no avail. Thank you for any help.

Yes, your previous IP address was listed on the blocklist maintained by gbudb.com. (As shown in your third image.)

Unfortunately on ISPs you sometimes get an IP address previously used by a spammer and you run into this sort of problem.

It was a problem with the IP number, evidently not with Thunderbird. I plugged the IP number in the error message into an IP number location web site and it identified the ISP, whom I then contacted and who then reset the IP number and that solved the problem. They said that if this happens again I should turn off the router and turn it on again to get a new IP number; they also offered to provide me with a permanent "clean" IP number for about $5 a month, which I said I would consider if the problem continues.
