My current Thundebird profile has two email accounts, outlook and talktalk, both IMAP. I have left TalkTalk and so have archived those emails to Local Folders on my hard drive (they say I can no longer use an email client and my emails will be deleted in 2021). Question - how to back up the Local Folders?

Help/Troubleshooting, click Open Folder to open the profile folder in File Explorer, close TB. Copy the Mail/Local Folders folder to a backup location. Local Folders contains files with no extension named after the mail folders - the mbox files - and like-named .msf index files. To restore a folder, copy the mbox folder (ignore the .msf file) from the backup to the Mail/Local Folders location of the TB active profile folder, on any computer.

If you want to backup folders as separate eml files, select messages in TB (Ctrl+A to select all), then Ctrl+S to save them to a folder. An eml file can be opened in or imported to TB.
