Just tried it now and it works, I've not done anything to FF or Outlook / Hotmail.
Thank you, Microsoft!

Hi lenhughes73, please ignore the spam message promoting an unofficial phone number.
Does the PDF open within a custom viewer on a Microsoft site (e.g., OneDrive, live.com, office.com), or in Firefox's built-in PDF viewer?
It opens fine in OneDrive and will download and open OK using Acrobat Reader DC
I'm having the same problem. Printing a PDF works fine in Chrome and IE. Once downloaded to Adobe viewer I can print it fine. This is something that used to work but has been broken.
Firefox 73 perhaps ?
I'm on 74 and still broken. It works fine on other browsers including Brave which I believe is a Firefox derivative.
73.0.1 seems to be the latest Mac version, I assume your 74 is on a Windows platform.
Correct and I am on the Beta update channel.
Hi Cowpatz, you can print PDFs most places but not PDF attachments on https://outlook.live.com/mail/ ?

Brave is based on Chromium.
That is correct. When viewing the PDF attachment in Outlook, on the Firefox browser, the print button does not work.
The Print button on the OWA previewer doesn't work for me in Firefox or in Edge. In both browsers, the site seems to be converting the PDF to a canvas, similar to how Firefox's built-in PDF viewer works.
In Chrome, the PDF is displayed in Chrome's built-in PDF viewer add-on instead of something generated by Microsoft's scripts.
I think that is the reason for the difference, but I can't explain why the site works differently in Chrome and Safari than in other browsers.
This used to work with no problems, I wonder what changed or when.
I get a regular monthly invoice as a PDF attached to an email and I always printed it off from within Outlook.
We had a report that it was broken in October 2019, although in a slightly different way: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1269979
jscher2000 do you have this issue as well? I find it surprising that it is not a bigger "issue", especially if it has been flagged since last year. Firefox and PDF docs are as commonplace as it gets. Having to download and print via adobe is inconvenient and time consuming (Adobe takes ages to start on my Windows 7 64 bit machine). Cheers
Yes, I have the same issue, but I always use Adobe to print PDFs to get the best fidelity so it hasn't affected my workflow.
I imagine someone has mentioned this problem on Microsoft's forums, but if not, someone definitely should report it.
We also can report it here, although I don't know if the team that runs the site will take it to Microsoft: https://webcompat.com/issues/new
I've been running with Microsoft support for the last week with this but not getting very far.
They sent me some instructions to run a Fiddler trace but unfortunately they were Windows based and I'm a Mac user which they were aware of.
I'll keep you posted if I get anywhere but it might be a good idea if jscher2000 pushes it forward through https://webcompat.com/issues/new as well.

Modified
From Microsoft today:-
Len, I have check with our expert regarding about Firefox and currently links in Outlook.com email messages don't work when they're viewed in Firefox browsers. Microsoft is working with Mozilla Firefox to fix the issue.
Just updated to FF74, still broken.
The fix is likely to be a change on the website and not a change in Firefox.
Just tried it now and it works, I've not done anything to FF or Outlook / Hotmail.
