Firefox monitor (or Have I Been Pwned) says my account was pwned, i think this is not true
Firefox monitor (or Have I Been Pwned) says my account was involved in Adult FriendFinder (2016) www.adultfriendfinder.com data breach. I never had an Adult FriendFinder account, i think this account was created using data (my email address) illegally collected and used without my authorization. Maybe this account was created by adultfriendfinder.com itself, or by Have I Been Pwned, i don't know. Firefox says these data has exposed: password, email address, other informations like language, name Let me know these data so i can verify, or stop trusting a site that publishes questionable articles to disturb people, they are using you and you are not making a good impression

hello, haveibeenpwned.com is run by a reputable security researcher. the site only compiles publicly available information from data breaches but i order to not increase or introduce new security problems they are not holding on to any other associated information than the affected email addresses. you can read up on some of the backgrounds at https://www.troyhunt.com/have-i-been-pwned-opting-out-vtech-and/ for example.
this is not to say that haveibeenpwned.com or firefox monitor as a consequence would make any claim as of how an email address might have ended up in a data breach: https://www.troyhunt.com/why-am-i-in-a-data-breach-for-a-site-i-never-signed-up-for/

Ok, try to explain this to my collegues, i am at work and after they see the screen of my PC they look at me very bad.
When did you set up your email address?
Although you own the address now, it could be that when the breach happened, the address belonged to someone else.
This is impossible, this email was activated 10 years ago.
