Hi t.zuchowski, could you provide some more context for this problem. For example:

Are you starting with a download button, or a link, or are you using something like right-click > Save Image As?

Is there a particular site where I or another forum volunteer could get hands on with the problem? Please describe the steps to replicate it if you can.

While browsing on Facebook if I see a picture I want to download, I click on the photo. It opens in a new window. I hover over Options and Download is visible. I click on Download and the picture enlarges but does not download. This used to work prior to my changing the profile options attempting to allow Fox videos to play. Once the tracking options were changed, the videos worked. But now Option to download does not.

Gotcha. This option:

Oddly, when I click Download, the full-sized image completely replaces the Facebook page. To get back to the news feed I have to use the Back button.

The menu item is a link but normally a script in the page modifies what the link does. It seems the script isn't working in Firefox at the moment. Since FB uses very complex scripting, I haven't tried to figure out what's going wrong.

A couple workarounds for the moment are:

  • right-click Download and choose Save Link As to save the linked image
  • right-click Download and choose Open Link in New Tab, then save the image from the new tab

Facebook could change again at any time, so I don't know how long those options will work.
