Thunderbird is blank
Hi,
I used Thunderbird for a while, suddenly after restarting thunderbird appears blank. No e-mails are displayed. Most of the UI is not visible. Please see screenshot attached.
A click on the button with the three lines to go to settings does not trigger any reaction.
First workaround was to backup Profile, uninstall thunderbird, reinstall thunderbird, copy Profile to Thunderbild App-Folder (%appdata%). After a while, the same thing happened again.
I use Windows 10.
Kind regards,

I updated from version 68.8.1 to version 77 beta3. So far no issues.

Installation file was Thunderbird Setup 68.8.1.exe for 64 system
I have the same problem but it occurred immediately after the update restart and no amount of fiddling with profiles results in anything but the blank screen. It's as if the profile information was not loaded into the except it does remember the the general layout.
Please note I found this from another post in this forum - I forgot the poster so I can't give the appropriate credt - sorry. I tried it and presto! all my emails reappeared: * Okayyy.... so figuring I had nothing to lose (after copying the profile folder somewhere else), I tried deleting the global-messages-db.sqlite file and restarted and everything popped up. Documentation indicates this is harmless and the program automatically rebuilds this file if it is deleted. Well, the program started up properly and showed everything; all accounts, folders, email, everything. So if you have the same symptoms as I did, give this a try. To be safe, do as I did and copy the profile folder somewhere first.
I deletd both the backup and the original file. There were two files with the "global-messages-db.sqlite" and I deleted both. Hope this helps
Modified
deleting the global-messages-db.sqlite file and restarted did not solve the issue
Please note: If you did not exit Thunderbird first then the file cannot be properly deleted because it is in use. You need to exit Thunderbird first, then delete the 'global-messages-db.sqlite' file and then start Thunderbird.
I exited Thunderbird before deleting global-messages-db.sqlite.
Issue is not solved.
