Firefox Zoom View
Hello Firefox World. My question concerns zoom view. I would like to be able to set the zoom view to whatever % I like – as I can in most other software – and not be limited to the fixed increments in the Firefox menu. To adjust the zoom, I click on the menu button (3 horizontal bars) at top right, then click ‘+’ or ‘-‘ to adjust the % setting. But that functionality only offers fixed %s in rather large increments (eg 30%, 50%, 67%, 80%, 90%, 100%, 110%, 120%, 133%, 150%, 170%, 200%) with as much as 20% and 30% differences between increments. Huge differences! There does not seem to be any ability to enter the exact zoom % I want, whatever the #, as in Internet Explorer or Microsoft Office applications. In those, I would simply click on the zoom % setting at the bottom right corner of the screen (in the status bar) and then enter whatever # I choose. Ideally that would be an option in Firefox too – perhaps by clicking on the zoom % shown in the menu (between the ‘-‘ and ‘+’) and typing in a new #. I am perplexed why that functionality is not already built into the software. I am aware of the existing “default zoom” setting but this question is not about the default zoom but rather making adjustments on the fly and as needed. Solutions?

You can set your own preferred zoom values via the about:config page. You can use 5% of 10% (x.05 or x.10) zoom values.
- toolkit.zoomManager.zoomValues
- zoom.maxPercent
- zoom.minPercent
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can click the button to "Accept the Risk and Continue".
Note that if you use the scroll wheel to zoom then you can only change in 10% increments starting from the current zoom value.
