Error sending email (smart card required)

Hi,

When trying to send an e-mail, suddenly I can't do it on account of this error appearing:

"Sending of the message failed. A PKCS #11 module returned CKR_GENERAL_ERROR, indicating that an unrecoverable error has occurred. The configuration related to smtp.office365.com must be corrected."

Basically, Thunderbird is asking me to insert a smart card in order to send an e-mail. How do I revert this?
