Emails disappear, repair shows them then they disappear again

I have a number of email accounts.

Tonight, on all of them, the INBOX folder only shows a partial listing of the emails that should be there. When I receive a new email the number appears next to the Account Folder but the email(s) is not there when I open the INBOX. The only way to see them is to go to PROPERTIES and then REPAIR FOLDER. All the missing emails and new emails them display but as soon as I move to another folder they're gone again. It's always the same ones that remain and the same ones that disappear.

All of the other folders (SENT, DRAFT, TRASH, etc) are empty and show a magnifying glass with an "x" on it and "No results". If I REPAIR them they will show their contents until I move to another folder.

I tried starting in SAFE MODE but that didn't help.

Hope someone can help. Thanks!

It turns out I had somehow turned on the "Quick Filter Bar". Turned it off and everything is back to normal.

PS - I just noticed that when I open each folder, at the bottom right where it says:

Unread: xx Total:xx

they both have the correct number i.e. there are four emails showing but the total says Total: 14

Can you edit your posts? If so, how? Don't think I should have to reply instead of edit. Thanks.
